In his work _Subterranea_ Leifur Wilberg Orrason (*1987, Iceland) is combining fact and fiction - inspired by the short story _The Cave of the Dog_ by Michele Stepto, the watchdog of his father and stories of Greek mythology. Lithuanian watchdogs and the lava caves of Iceland are leading into a dark underworld:
'Dogs, photographed at night, are turning into Kerberoi, into gatekeepers of Hades - lava tubes into an entrance to another, darker world. The dramaturgy of color and light is woven into a theatrical world of illusion that, in the combination of different images, allows various interpretations.'(Felix Hoffmann / Katia Reich)
