Yacht Tragedy (Ship of Fools)

Christoph Draeger (*1968, Switzerland) has repeatedly dealt with disasters in his artistic career. In its projection _Yacht Tragedy (Ship of Fools)_ he re-stages the video of an insurance company, in which a water polo team reconstructs a bizarre Yacht accident: a group of young vacationers in Greece leaves their yacht to swim. No one stays on board, no one thinks about pulling down a ladder. All passengers drown.
The plaintive chorus, which comments the events of the film (Composer: Johannes Schütt) draws a parallel to the Greek tragedy and metaphorically describes an event which intensifies until there is no escape from the disaster.
