Hillbilly Heroin, Honey

For her series _Hillbilly Heroin, Honey_ Hannah Modigh (*1980, Sweden) spent two months in St. Charles in the North American Appalachians and documented a group of youths. In the former mining town jobs and hopes are missing, while the use of the painkiller called 'hillbilly heroin' increases. Despite the harsh environment Modighs images are full of beauty and delicacy. The book was chosen as Photo Book of the Year in Sweden in 2010.
