Stranger World
In cooperation with the partner region "the North" (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden) Fotodoks 2013 asked for the forms of representation of a world that seems to be increasingly disconcerting and thrown out of sync. We focused on the photographic views of otherness, the strange and unfamiliar, on courageous and special people but also on aesthetic and stylistic approaches to topics that deviate from the common visual language.

Unknown World
The Fotodoks exhibition at the Munich City Museum showed innovative photographic approaches and points of view, a playful approach to fact and fiction and the emotional force, which can unfold in a photographic work or a single image. At Marienhof we presented the outdoor exhibition 'On Solid Ground'.

A Distinguished Single Image
For her work 'Self-Portrait with Twins and one Breast' photographer Linn Schröder received the ZEITmagazin Photo Prize: The autobiographical background of cancer, mastectomy and the birth of twins is combined with art historical references. In a contemporary Madonna portrait Linn Schröder draws a very personal line between life and death.
Lucid Lectures and Magic Meetings
Paul Lowe and the Fotodoks team hosted a series of discursive evenings on the Fotodoks couch at the MaximiliansForum, looking for a form outside the traditional lecture-question-answer style. Guests were the exhibiting photographers, as well as Michael Obert, Florian Ebner, Balz Isler, Niclas Östlind and Peter Lindhorst, amongst others. Michael Klein shone at the Deichtorhallen-bookstand and DOK.fest was our guest with the film '727 days without Karamo'.
